My first official week of the 8th month!
This pregnancy has just flown by and I've truly loved every minute and don't even feel remotely ready for Jimmy to be here yet. I spent some of the weekend working on his room and it still doesn't look like I did anything! We had taken some stuff down out of the attic from when Mercedes was a baby and I did manage to get that scrubbed down and ready for him but thats about it.
I've developed a fun third trimester "side effect" thats not entirely common although it does seem to strike women who are having boys more often. The official name is PUPPP and it's not harmful to me or Jimmy but it might make me go INSANE! It's basically a very itchy rash and the only way I can describe it is kind of like having chicken pox and the only cure for it is giving birth. I'm trying a homeopathic remedy in hopes that it will clear it up enough that I won't be tempted to scratch myself to death. It's a soap called Grandpa's Pine Tar Wonder Soap and I've read that other women have had success with it...so here's hoping! I used it for the first time last night and even though the smell of the soap is very pungent and almost smells like a new tire it's oddly comforting. In the meantime I'm slathering myself with Benadryl Gel and it's helped with the itching...especially if I manage to get every little bump covered!
Even with this new twist on the road to Jimmy's Big Arrival I'm still enjoying feeling him bump around in my ever expanding belly and imagining all the things Mamma's imagine about their Little One's. I've started calling him my Little Fish or Pescadito because sometimes he flops around in there so much and so stongly that it reminds me of what a fish looks like flopping around out of water.
