Whats 4 Days?? - Week 23

Another week! For some reason these last three weeks have dragged by. I feel like I should be 25 or 26 weeks pregnant by now. This pregnancy has definitely had phases of speeding up and slowing down. I guess I’m in a slow down phase.

Last week’s Midwife report: The Niño’s heart rate was 160 and he measured a week ahead. Mamma’s blood pressure dropped a little which was really great and I’ve only gained 7 lbs over all! Things are looking good.

On the advice of the midwife I’ve embarked on a low-sodium diet. What that means to me is no French fries, no chips, no pizza and no popcorn. Should be easy right? I’ll do myself a favor and not tell you guys how many times I’ve already fallen off the wagon…in less than a week.

The Niño’s stats for this week are approximately 11 inches and 1 lb. Basically the size of a large mango or a pomegranate. See? Look!

Sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing him for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze him when he hears them outside the womb.

So maybe Jimmy's shenanigans won't faze him either since he's already getting an earful every day.

Mamma’s stats are less exciting but more visible. My belly measures 43” and feels very full, I think I’m probably about to go through a little growth spurt because it feels very stretched. It’s amazing to me that I’ve only grown an inch in 3 weeks when it feels like 4" or 5". If we watch my belly carefully we can see small jabs and kicks occasionally. I think a full bladder really irritates him too because if I let it get too full he reminds me that its time by kicking and dancing all over it.

I have a comparison pic for you this week. Sorta. The picture from last time was taken at 23 weeks 4 days and this one is taken today at exactly 23 weeks. What’s 4 days??? It could actually mean a lot since it seems like I grow overnight sometimes but since this is what I have to work with we’ll just say they are both 23 week pictures and go with it.
